Every year, platoons are ‘refreshed’, with new rookie soldiers – some teenagers – joining, and a new young officer straight out of Sandhurst taking command. He has six months to transform his platoon from a group of strangers into a highly-drilled fighting unit, ready to deploy. 6 months to grow up, bust egos, get fighting fit and build a bond so tight they’ll do anything for each other when the going gets tough.
